Thanks so much!!!
Hi Cassidy families!
We are so excited to announce that VBS WILL BE HAPPENING this year! With one modification, though. Instead of you bringing your kids to VBS, we’re bringing VBS to your kids.
This summer, on July 20-22, we’ll be using a quarantine-friendly VBS called BOLT. With minimal preparation, easy-to-follow instructions, and a video that leads you and your kids step-by-step through each of the 3 days, BOLT is designed for you to perform with your family at home. It’s so simple!
During BOLT, your family will participate in fun games that illustrate what it means to listen to, focus on, and follow Jesus. Depending on your pace, you can expect that each day’s experience will last about an hour and a half. It’s great for kids 5 and up. Even middle and high school kids can enjoy it!
If you want to get a better idea of what BOLT is, you can watch the Day 2 sample video here. (But don’t let your kiddos see it just yet—we want to save the fun for later.)
There’s something else we’re really excited about—this could also be an amazing outreach opportunity. If you feel comfortable gathering with more people, you can invite as many neighbors, friends, and family to your house for BOLT as you would like. It’s such an easy and fun way to share the good news of Jesus with our community. If it’s helpful, we’ve attached a printable invitation for you to use or you can share our social media posts with anyone you want to invite.
Please send us an email or call us to register!
We’ll be sending you more information as we get closer to July 20-22. In the meantime, get your family excited about BOLT. This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!

Dear Friends,Monday, Bishop Taylor and a team from our Conference, released a plan outlining the steps for re-opening worship services. Fortunately, the worship team has already been preparing and has had a preliminary plan already in progress. We will need Council approval and other documentation but are hopeful that we will be able to physically gather on June 21. Please let me emphasize one of the points in the document:As you consider joining us on the 21st, please consider your health and risks. If you are vulnerable, or in a high risk category, please feel free to remain at home and participate on line. Please read over the following document and understand what steps are necessary. Further information specific to Cassidy will be forthcoming. You can find the document on the Holston.org website or

Live Like God Says
James 1:19-27, Psalms 16:11
Have you ever seen a fish flailing around out of water?
When a fish is in water it is truly alive, flourishing, and at peace, but when you take that fish out of the environment it was made for, it begins gasping for life and violently flails around desperate to get back into the water.
We are not much different than this fish. When we live according to God’s Word we are fully alive, but when we live outside of God’s will in any part of our lives we will feel like a fish out of water, desperate for life. Psalm 16 says, “He makes known to me the pathway of life.” Whatever God tells you to do will lead to greater life and richer joy. God’s commands are not there to hinder our joy, but to lead us into the fullness of it!
As you continue to follow Jesus, God will point out next steps for you to take. He will convict you to change your attitudes and actions in certain areas. He will point out something in the Bible that He wants you to act on. You will hear something in church or from another Christian that will cut you to the heart. This is God inviting you into greater life and richer joy.
Jesus is now Lord of your life which means you obey what He says, trusting that He knows best.
– What is your next step in your walk with Jesus?
– What has God pointed out that He wants you to change?
– What does it mean for Jesus to be Lord of your entire life?
